Travels through New Mexico were amazing. Last time I was here some friends mentioned the town of Bisbee and said I should make it a point to go by there if I had a chance. Well, it didn't work out the last time but I managed to include it this trip and I have to say I'm very glad I did. It's a mining town from the 1800s and a lot of the character from that time still exists. well worth the detour.

On the way out of New Mexico I stopped in Clovis and took a look at the Clovis Music Museum and then drove by Norman Petty Studios. This was the very place that Buddy Holly recorded "That'll be the Day" and countless other hits. Waylon Jennings, Roy Orbison, The Fireballs and many others recorded there as well. It was both thought-provoking and inspiring to see the place where such musical history was made.

Off to Texas!

With shows in Santa Barbara, Monterey, Watsonville, Cupertino, Stinson Beach, Paso Robles, and San Luis Obispo.
American Songwriter review

I got word a week or so ago that the July/August issue of American Songwriter magazine would include a review of the new album and I've been waiting to see it with my own eyes. Well, I just got back from my local news stand where I purchased a copy and sure enough, it's there! It's exciting to see it print! It was so surreal to walk up to the news stand, shop through all the magazines there, find the one I was looking for, open it up and find the review of my album there (Page 71 ;^) and then walk over and pay the man...I dunno, I wanted to jump up and down and wave my arms and do a happy-dance...

You can read the review on the "Press" page under "Album Reviews"

Back in L.A...for a moment

This last NW tour was one of the best ever. Response to the new album has been very positive and once again I have to take a moment to savor how lucky I am. The very idea that it's possible to make some sort of a living out of this is kind of surreal...

I met a bunch of great new people along the way. Each show and each city was inspiring in a different way. If you've ever seen one of my shows you've probably already heard me say this at some time or another, but I'll say it again..."I love my job" :^)

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a series of performances over the weekend at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival in Florida. I'll be performing as a side-man guitar player with "Erock for Kids", a children's music project I was a member of years ago. It's a great act with very hip material.I had almost forgotten how sophisticated some of the songs actually are. This is going to be fun!
